The miniature railroad in Greenport was the inspiration of Frank Field who moved to the Village in the early 1970’s. The 16-gauge locomotive (circa 1954) Greenport Rotary acquired from Frank is one he bought in 1982. In addition, the purchase also included three cars which can carry 12 children each. The Rotary Club of Greenport partnered with the village of Greenport to continue Frank’s legacy and rebuilt it in Moores Woods next to the skate park to provide countless hours of fun for all kids, young and old.
